Finify: AI Finance

finify-logo-1.png

Below is a demo video I made showcasing the Finify's abilities in answering various financial questions. I was the sole developer for the agent's 'brains', or how it answered the questions. I made this when I was a senior in High school, and at the time, no other AI agent compared to Finify in terms of response quality and financial 'skills'. The prompt-engineering and multi-agent techniques I implemented into Finify in years ago are starting to become a standard now. My code is available, so contact me if you'd like to take a look or talk through it.

Finify Investors' Conference

Atlanta, Georgia | August 2023

The Finify Investors' Conference brought together over 100 entrepreneurs, financial analysts, accountants, and venture capitalists from throughout the US to learn and ask questions about Finify. After the conference, there was $2M in outstanding offers, giving Finify an investment-based valuation of $20M. Although personnel difficulties prevented us from taking these offers, investors were very excited about Finify's potential.

The photo to the right shows the executive team. Starting from the right side: Max (me, CPO), Matt (Co-Founder/CMO), Daniel (Co-Founder/CEO), Zuri (front, Systems Architect), Robert (behind, CTO), Dannie (back, CFO).

Pitch Deck and Growth Plan

Led by our Chief Marketing Officer, Matt presented the deck below. (if you are on mobile, please move to desktop for better viewing)

Finify's 'Skills'

Finify had 'skills' that allowed it to generate smarter responses for the user; Rather than just using what GPT was trained on, Finify could...

  • Retrieve live crypto and stock prices and financials, of course (I met with a NASDAQ official for a data license).

  • Get all fundamental metrics and indicators for any stock, like SMA, for example.

  • Reach out to google to answer general finance or current event questions that it didn't already know.

  • Call APIs to gather recent news on the market or specific company, and also its competition's news.

  • Use a stock screener to sort and filter stocks based on the users requested metrics.

  • Gather a company's recent SEC fillings, including 8k, 10k, etc.

  • Display visuals for a security's metrics, like price over time, for example.

Finify did all this in seconds, and would use these 'skills' to provide more fulfilling and 'smarter' responses to the user.

Where Finify was Going

The team and I had lots of ideas for where to take Finify beyond the chatbot shown in the demo:

  • A paid tier with real-time data instead of 15-minute delayed data.

  • A commercial/teams package where companies can use Finify in their financial analysis.

  • Finify Data, where we would collect usage data and patterns from our signed-in users to sell to brokerage companies and advertises.

  • A branch of Finify that automates common procedures for accountants.

  • Finify News, a periodic AI-generated newsletter delivered to your inbox.

However, in the weeks after our investment conference, with many investors very interested, some of our international developers broke contract and stopped providing work to us. It was hard to get new developers without capital, and it was hard to raise capital without developers - So of course, this made it very difficult to continue development, and so it eventually dissolved.
